What do Speech and Language Therapists do?

Speech and language therapists assess, diagnose and develop programmes of work to enhance communication.

The ability to communicate is important for every aspect of our lives and it is essential to a child's learning that they can communicate and understand their environment to succeed in education.

Speech and language therapists work directly with the client, as well as carers and important people in their lives such as teachers/support assistants etc.

Speech and Language therapists work with people with a range of communication difficulties, ranging from babies to the elderly.

I enjoy working with Children with:

1.  Mild, moderate or severe learning difficulties.

2.  Language delay.

3.   Language disorder.

4. Difficulties in producing sounds.

5.   Stammering/dysfluency.

6.  Autism/social interaction difficulties (autism spectrum disorders).

7. Aspergers syndrome.

8. Semantic pragmatic disorders.
